Interactive documentary Gaza/Sderot profiles six residents of the Palestinian city of Gaza and the Israeli village of Sderot. Less than a mile apart, Gaza suffers an Israeli blockade while Sderot is often the target of Palestinian rocket fire. However, each city’s residents persevere. From October 26 to December 23, 2008, two video interviews were posted daily to the Gaza/Sderot website—one with a protagonist from Gaza and one with a protagonist from Sderot. The full set of stories is currently available online.
The Gaza/Sderot bifurcated interface features one video from Gaza and one from Sderot—visually presenting both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Web visitors can also discover videos through a map of the region, an interactive grid of interviewee faces, and a thematic tag cloud. Each of these different interfaces is divided, presenting information for Gaza and Sderot separately, underlining the conflict in the region.
